Choosing a headless CMS around your editorial team
Identify authors, approvers, languages and publishing frequency. A headless CMS separates content management from presentation, but introduces integration work to maintain.

Compare operating models
For Strapi, Sanity or headless WordPress, check current hosting, access, pricing, backup and export arrangements. Do not choose on a feature list alone.
Plan preview and migration
Define a content model and previews that authors can inspect before publishing. Test webhooks, builds and caches, and map existing URLs with redirects where necessary.
Choose a CMS around editorial work
Let editors perform representative tasks: create a bilingual service, add permitted media, send a preview for approval and publish without breaking the layout. Separate editable fields from developer-controlled structure. A headless label alone does not establish a useful editing experience.
| Area | What to agree |
|---|---|
| Model | Fields for services, work and translations |
| Workflow | Draft, preview, approval and publishing |
| Media | Sizing, alt text and publication rights |
| Operations | Backup, export, billing and ownership |
Prepare for the estimate
Provide the current URLs, approved example data, owners and the most important workflow. Distinguish the first release from later additions so teams can estimate the same scope and agree acceptance before work.
