Reduce repeated rendering and computation

Use the Flutter or React Native profiler before changing code. Investigate unnecessary updates, oversized images and expensive work during scrolling. Use appropriately virtualised lists.

Network and battery use

Reduce unnecessary polling, cancel obsolete requests and choose caching around data freshness. Test resuming from the background and unreliable networks.
